Last week we traveled back up to New York City for Persy to have all of his diagnostic scans repeated. This included MRI of the head, MIBG scan of the entire body with CT, and bone marrow aspiration. This week we received the results, and we are bursting at the seams to share the good news with you all!

The right clavicle is still lighting up on the MIBG scan, which means P’s Curie score is still 1. However, this area was recently irradiated and, according to the doctors, it can take months for this to show up on the MIBG scan. Overall there was “decreased MIBG-avidity of disease involving the right clavicle,” which is a great sign. After much questioning, we have been assured and reassured by the doctors that there are currently no areas of concern in the abdomen, lymph nodes, or other previously concerning areas.

These are wonderful results and the answers to so many of our prayers. At this time Persy’s treatment plan remains the same: complete a total of 7 cycles of the HITS protocol (low dose chemotherapy and immunotherapy). He is currently about halfway through cycle 3, and handling it all with his usual infectious positivity. The treatments continue to be challenging. Yet our faith in the Lord and determination to beat this are stronger than ever, bolstered even further by these encouraging scan results and the comfort of your constant prayers and support. Our God is so good and we are so very thankful for all of the amazing ways He is working in our lives. 🙏💛
